The songs in my repertoire I select by their melodies and tunes. And after during the translation of lyrics I discover the songs for the second time, their poetry, sadness and humour. I started to learn the jazz standards prior years in the garage of one house in Žižkov. And in those early days of training I have for many months night after night brought by elevator in the garage my combo, unfolded the notes and tried what can support the microphone… and neighbours. They were great. Not only my passion did not scandalize them, they had an understanding for it and they supported me. So my first concert of jazz standards took place years ago just for them in this Žižkov Garage.
